About Us

Background Information

The National Council for Children’s Services is a State Corporation established under section 41 of the Children Act, 2022. The Council draws its mandate from Section 42 of the Children Act 2022. The Council is mandate to regulate, coordinate, and oversight children services in Kenya and advise the government on all matters relating to children.

The Council was first established under the now-repealed Children Act 2001 and aligned to the Mwongozo Guidelines of State Corporations through the Statute Law (Miscellaneous Amendment) Act No. 11 of 2017
